Uncle Sam to Rosie the Riveter
If you’ve spent any time around Central Florida Pride, you already know we’re big fans of our good ole Uncle Sam.
He shows up in our tryout flyers, on posters around The Dugout, and throughout our branding. Uncle Sam represents opportunity, pride, and a call to step up. That message has always fit who we are and what we ask of our athletes.
But as our softball program continues to grow, it felt right to introduce another iconic symbol.
Meet Rosie the Riveter.
Before COVID, Central Florida Pride actually supported more softball teams than baseball teams. Softball has always been a major part of our organization’s history, and we are proud of the foundation that was built during those years. Like many youth programs, the landscape changed after COVID, but our commitment to softball never did.
Introducing Rosie the Riveter is part of our effort to grow the softball program back to what it once was, and beyond.
Rosie has long stood for strength, resilience, and the belief that you belong wherever you choose to compete. For us, she represents the confidence and toughness we see every day from our softball athletes. She is not here to replace Uncle Sam. She stands alongside him.
This new Rosie the Riveter flyer is our way of celebrating Central Florida Pride softball and the athletes who wear our colors with pride. It reflects the same values we have always believed in: hard work, accountability, and representing something bigger than yourself.
At Central Florida Pride, softball is not an afterthought. Our softball teams train, compete, and grow with the same expectations and standards as every program under our umbrella. As we continue to rebuild and expand the program, we are excited about the future and honored to support the next generation of softball athletes.
Uncle Sam will still be around. He just has some strong company now.
